On this page I will be using the word "I" a lot for ease for myself, but the reality is that there are many people that have been, and still are apart of my journey. I am blessed to have had the people in my life that I do. They all have a hand in where I am now, and my successes. I have to thank Mark and Mary Philpott for trusting me with Dash, my first show dog. I can't even begin to explain how much I owe to her, so if you want to know, you'll have to ask me in person. Thanks to my family for helping with the dogs, whether it be my kids stepping up and holding or showing dogs when I over booked myself, or my husband for driving me all over the place and keeping my dog show camp sites clean! I do a lot of owner handling (and love puppy people that want to give it a shot) but an incredible amount of success is due to my handler, Debbie, of Trojan Rottweilers. She definitely knows how to make an ACD look its best! If you wound up here by mistake and are actually looking for a Rottweiler, check her out! The Cattle Dog community has become an important source of friendship and information for me, and I thank all that have been open and willing to share knowledge, and their dogs with me! I strive to be that for anybody reaching out to me.
My love of Cattle Dogs began decades ago as a 12 year old kid with my first ACD mix my grandma bought me for 50$ from a garage sale. I taught her everything I could, and even made her a "Superdogs" bandana with some fabric from my dress and a sharpie. I truly believe she was what led me down this path. Others have come since. They have humored me as i've fumbled my way through a variety of sports and eventually found my way into show dog life. Now I have a wall full of ribbons and prizes, along with miles of travels and memories that I get to keep thanks to the best breed I have come across.
I've come to learn through showing dogs, that they are not considered a particularly "attractive" breed, and to some are more trouble than they are worth. I am here to contest that. Not only do I find them beautiful, every one looking unique to the next, but the solid compact body, and functionality from head flowing smoothly to tail draws my eye to every one I see. Top it off with the loyalty and intelligence, and there's no other breed I want with my while i'm out in woods, which happens to be a lot. They truly are a highly versatile dog with so much to offer the right people. The trick is being sure that you are that person because there really is nothing they won't do for you if you are.
Now, fuzzy stuff aside, I welcome anybody interested in my dogs to please reach out. I don't place puppies based on looks alone. We will need to build a relationship and determine if one of my dogs is truly what you are looking for.
All my puppies are from parents with OFA records, and the puppies themselves are DNA and BAER tested. I'm hoping to provide healthy companions, sport dogs, and dogs that can be successfully shown as well. I support people new to conformation, and love it when more people want to increase our presence in the CKC and/or AKC rings. I am LGBTQIA friendly.
Not just pretty faces, I have produced dogs that are herding, doing well in a variety of sporting events, as well as some more specialized areas such as cadaver and avalanche work. I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Australian Cattle Dog club of Canada, and am on the 2025 National Specialty Committee- to be held in Chilliwack, BC.
